    All know that moving can be a stressful experience, whether you’re relocating within the same city or across the world. Moving your car is even more complicated because so many things need to be considered and done for it to work out smoothly. This blog post will cover some things you need to know and do for your car relocation to NZ.

    Here are some tips for keeping your car safe:

    Book early:

    It is one of the most important things to remember regarding your car relocation. Booking gives you more options and a better rate, which means more savings!

    Book early also lets you plan your move easily as there will be no rush. You can plan out this process and do everything according to your convenience so that it doesn’t become a hassle later on.

    Don’t leave things till the last minute:

    The most important aspect of planning your car relocating is to get an idea of what you need to do and not leave things until the last minute.

    You will not appreciate a rushed move and the lack of assistance if you run around with other things.

    Make sure that you have all the necessary documents (passport or driver’s license, etc.), so there is no delay in getting through customs. If possible, find out beforehand whether there are any special requirements for cars coming into New Zealand, such as registration papers or safety checks.

    Get a few quotes:

    One of the most important things you can do is to get multiple quotes. It will help you understand what cars are priced and what’s included in each quote. Don’t just go with the cheapest option or the highest price one – there might be hidden costs that aren’t included in the quote they give you, so make sure to ask!

    A good moving quote should be clear about what is included in the cost and what’s not. If you don’t have one, ask for a breakdown of the costs.

    It should also include information on taxes and insurance, so you know where your money goes. Your company should be able to give you a breakdown if necessary, as well as provide copies of receipts from all parties involved.

    Pick up and drop off points:

    When planning your car relocation, it’s important to ensure that the pick-up and drop-off points are at the same location. It will make it easier for you to locate the vehicle on arrival. The two locations should also be nearby so you can easily travel from one place to another.

    If possible, try to choose locations in the same city or town (preferably within a few blocks of each other). If this is not possible, opting for locations within 100km (60 miles) of each other will suffice.

    Vehicle Condition Reports:

    A Vehicle Condition Report (VCR) is a detailed list of the condition of a vehicle. It includes information about any damage to the car and defects in its structure and engine.

    Getting VCRs before taking your car on a long trip is important because it can help you avoid problems with your insurance company if something goes wrong during transportation.

    You can get VCRs from an accredited inspection service such as NZQA or VTNZ (Vehicle Testing New Zealand). They usually cost around $150-$200 to obtain, but there may be additional charges for specific types of inspections required by your insurer.

    The report should include:

    • all known damage;
    • whether there are any visible signs of corrosion;
    • whether there’s any visible rusting;
    • whether any parts have been repainted without approval from the manufacturer;
    • if there are any modifications made that affect its performance or safety; and
    • if parts have been replaced with aftermarket components (parts not approved by manufacturers).

    Conclusion

    If you are moving, your car relocation in NZ can be smoother by following these tips. You must book your vehicle transport early (at least 8 weeks before your departure date), so the company has time to arrange everything for you and avoid any last-minute problems. Having quotes from different companies will give you an idea of their prices compared with others in the market. It is also worth checking out reviews from previous customers before deciding which one suits your needs.
